PEMBA ISLAND FISHING
Pemba is a quiet and lone island located 25 minutes flight North of Tanzania. This little island is the prime fishing ground, both for fishing in the deep waters and on the shore. Marlin, dog-toothed tuna, trevally and other species can easily be found within few miles of the coastline. The best season is from September to March, since the sea is calmer than it use to be.
The deep waters are abounding in big-game fish, from tuna to biting barracudas. They migrate through the Pemba Channel once per year, but you can find them in smaller number all-year round. Private fishing companies organize the best deep sea fishing and offer daily excursions, so do not hesitate to find the best one as soon as you get to Pemba Island.
