The Pole Pole Resort is located in the eastern coast of Mafia Island, set in lush gardens with its own beautiful white sandy beach on Chole Bay. The resort boasts seven luxurious wooden bungalows, set on stilts with wide verandas and en-suite bathrooms with king-size showers. Free day trips provided by the lodge include a trip to Chole Island, which boasts the ruins of Arabic buildings used by the Germans in the First World War and is the oldest inhabited settlement in the islands.Â
