This little fishing village on the southwest of Tanzania has turned into renowned destination among fishing enthusiasts. Half and full day charters for seasoned fishers or beginners are organized every day. This village is also an attraction because of boat tours which bring visitors to watch and swim together with bottlenose dolphins. The variety of fish is incredible: Bonito, Skipjack, Dorado, Striped Marlin, Yellow Fin Tuna, Barracuda, Wahoo, King Fish, Mackerel Tuna and so on, so forth. Among tropical fish, there are Swordfish and Sail fish, possible to find throughout the year. The best lodges in this area are Unguja Lodge, The Residence Zanzibar and Karamba.
There are two seasons for fishing: the first one lasts from September to December and the second one from February to April.
