Camping Or Lodge Safari?

There are a variety of different ways that you can enjoy your safari adventure in Tanzania.

We have divided the options into 4 levels –

Camping – This is mostly at campsites just outside the National Parks and sometimes at public campsites within the National Park using simple 2/3 people tents. You have a chef who comes with you on these trips – helping with putting the tents up, cooking and cleaning for you.

Camping Plus- This is mostly using private campsites in the National Park  using simple 2/3 people tents. These private campsites are within the National Park but you will have no other groups staying with you…it will be your vehicle alone. You have a chef who comes with you on these trips – helping with putting the tents up, cooking and cleaning for you. For these safaris we use camping beds and mattresses with sheets & blankets. We also bring a toilet and shower tent to the campsite.

Comfort –These safaris use lodges in the tour. These lodges are usually larger establishments (30+) rooms and can be found inside and outside the park boundary. More of a classic hotel experience.

Comfort Plus – these Tanzania Safaris use luxury tented camps – these are smaller more personal establishments with usually fewer than 15 rooms. Often you stay in a luxury tent (these are permanent tents with proper furniture) giving that true Out of Africa experience.

Mixed Safari -this Tanzania Safari is pretty unique to us; we know people want the luxury of lodges with the cheapness of camping. We have combined together camping, lodges and luxury tented camps in these safaris. Meaning 1 day you are at a  public campsite and the next day you can be in a 4* safari camp. This is a great way of planning a safari as it allows us to choose camping for you in expensive areas and luxury accommodation in cheaper areas.
